Valentine's Day and School

Where to start.... every year since my girls have been in school Valentine's Day has been a challenge. In our school system gifts, flowers, balloon bouquet's can be delivered to the school. In most cases they go straight to each child's classroom.

So each year the girls were in the lower grades I was able to fix a balloon bouquet take it to school (much more cost effictive idea) & be done. Then comes the upper grades, "it has to come from a florist mom", "somone might see you", my children would say. So yes I cave & spend the $8 to $10 per child to have the gift delivered.

Now we have High School & its the same thing. I really wish gifts had to be sent outside of school. I Just don't like the feeling of pressure the kids feel to get the special gift and to get it from that special someone. Am I alone here? Just my thoughts. Would love to hear yours.

Why not just give them a gift before or after school, why does the gift have to go to the school? My kids are homeschooled so I am probably missing something obvious...but I would think if you wanted to give them something special on V-day you could do it at home.
