Homecoming Week

This week is homecoming week for my 2 oldest daughters. We do floats kinda extreme compared to some schools. I thought it would be fun to show pictures of the floats from start to finish......

I will start with the Junior Float....

Junior theme this year "Purple Reign"

Saturday morning about 9 am ......

By mid-afternoon Saturday:

The students who are not involved in the caprentrary work are busy working cutting foam for letters, taping letters, and cutting napkins to use for pomps.

Sunday afternoon Junior float is really starting to take shape.

Some kids are pomping letters while others have begun to pomp the float.

As i mentioned I will try and post progress pictures daily, they have until however long it takes to be finished Wed night. Our community parade is Thursday the parade end with a huge pep rally to get ready for the game.

Now the Sophomore Float.......

Sophomore Float theme "Race to Victory"

Saturday morning about 10:00 am, after some confusion about how our float was getting to the armory we are ready to get started. Nothing like a little early morning stress. This daughter is Class Treasure and she and 3 other girls are responsible for this float being completed.

They were quick to get started assembling the skirt.

Sunday afternoon brought lots of kids to work on letters and get ready to pomp.

My daughter taping off the skirt for the purple and white checkerboard.

Checkerboard taped and letters mounted. This float is starting to take shape also.

As you can see lots of kids and parents come and work on floats. If they can't come some send food, drinks, supplies to be used for floats.

Students are expected to be working on the float while they are there, this is not a come hang out event. Class officers are expected to be there as much as possible. Parents are also expected to be there. I love this week with my girls. It is hard and stressful but also so much fun.
