Area Rugs?

Do you have hard wood floors? I do upstairs, and in my downstairs I have stained concrete. The concrete is so easy to keep clean. It is also very cool in the summer, but in the winter it gets a little too chilly. So I am wondering.... do you use area rugs? I have a few upstairs on my hard wood floors that I love, but I have not found the perfect area rug for my concrete floor downstairs.

My downstairs, or "the playroom", as we call it is decorated orange and white since we are huge UT fans, and I just cannot decide on what color rug to purchase. I have looked for them lots of places but discount area rugs is my favorite. The floor is stained a beautiful chocolate brown color, so I believe a neutral color would be best. I will keep you posted with what I decide.

Good Luck! It is hard to find a good quality area rug! I was just at Kohl's today. I was looking for a throw rug for the door that goes into my garage. Couldn't find anything I liked at all. I also noticed that the quality is way down hill from when I bought my last rug.

Hope you find a good one!

I don't have hard wood floors, but would love them some day. I do love area rugs just for decoration though. I got one for Christmas and LOVE it.

We use area rugs in our basement on cement floors. They work great!

I'm going to check out that website because I have hardwood downstairs and it's so hard to find good rugs that don't cost a fortune!

You can also use outdoor rugs inside for durability! Check our bargain bin for great closeouts as well as our indoor and outdoor rugs! Go UT!!

I got mine from Lowes. I chose a couple shag styles to cushion a newly walking baby. : )

I would go with something neutral and easy to clean. You could buy a small piece of regular carpet at say Home Depot and then tape/sew the edges. I know that there is something you can do to stop it from fraying. You might get something cheap that way.
Good luck!!

We have hardwoods throughout our downstairs except in the family room. I hate cleaning them more than anything. I had a rug under the dining room table and the breakfast nook table but when Andrew got old enough to feed himself, the breakfast nook rug had to go.

As for color, I was thinking Carolina blue but then I read you are UT fans:-( Kidding. Our master bedroom is light blue and chocolate brown.

My entire house has wood floors. It does get chilly in the winter, but we don't use area rugs. I have a few small rugs, but I have to clean them daily due to crumbs and pet hair. I'm not sure I'm ready to take on anything bigger!
Good luck with your decision!

I usually wear socks indoor during winter time, thus need no area rugs...

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I'm glad you're a daydreamer too. I used to use rugs in my old house on the wood floor but now we have carpet all over so don't need it.
