Ride Day!!

Yesterday was ride day in our community.
Ride Day is a day the 4H and local Bridle & Saddle
Club come together to allow the special needs children
of our community to spend some time outside with animals.
~~
They can ride horses, visit the petting zoo, wide in a
covered wagon, have their face painted, and so much more.
~~
Youngest daughter was asked to volunteer!
She was thrilled!
~~
I had never even heard of Ride Day.
I planned to take youngest daughter before
work on Friday morning and then just going back to get her.
Which is what I did, but oh how I wish I could have
done more. There were about 100 volunteers and I have
no idea how many kids.
It was amazing to see all those people come
out to support the children of our community.
This is the ramp they used to help the children mount
the horses.
~~
Once Ride Day was over and the buses began to carry
the children home, the volunteers had a chance to ride.

Here is youngest daughter getting her chance to ride a horse.

It was a wonderful day and getting a chance to ride herself

was just icing on the cake.

What a wonderful event that these kids will never forget! And a wonderful daughter for wanting to volunteer and give her time and effort. You got some great pictures. I'm sure you hated to go off to work.

Some of our Eighth graders get to help with Ride Day every year. This year, I had a student there as a guest. I can't wait to ask him about his day. He is in a wheel chair and cannot communicate other than saying yes and no. He gets very excited over special events.
