Home Coming Week

Last week was Home Coming Week at our local High School. My kids have always enjoyed it and participated in the dress up days, float building, and other activities. I was not on my game as much this year and did not get as many pictures as I would have liked....

Our home coming court was extra special this year. One of the girls goes to church with us (in the front in blue ~ her grandmother made that dress and it looked amazing). Youngest daughter has had the privilege and joy of going to school and church with these girls most of her life. We have been so lucky. Our homecoming was featured on the news Friday night. Homecoming 2013

It is Homecoming week for our High School. Work on Floats began on Saturday and they had to be completed last night. We follow a pretty strict schedule so time is always an issue. Our Parade is always scheduled for Thursday at 7. Well, this year for the first time I can remember, it is raining on Parade day, so they have moved our Parade to Friday before the football game.

Anyway, a few pictures.....

Homecoming 2013

I don't seem to post pictures of my family much anymore. My oldest 2 are in college now and my youngest is the one still at home. In the past I have posted tons of pictures of Homecoming week. I am getting a slow start but I will post several in the next couple of days. Today just one special picture.

A couple of years ago my Dad passed away, as I helped my mom try let go of his clothes, I took lots of things home. I was not ready to let go and this was my way of holding on to him. That was true of my girls too. They often wear a sweater, t-shirt, or something else we kept, and today.......

..... is Farmer Day and my baby girl wore Grandpa's overalls to school.

Homecoming Update 2012

I just wanted to share a few more pictures from float

building. I have to say it is amazing to watch how

quickly things change when everyone is

working together.

It seemed very quick that we went from an empty

trailer to a large structure.

Then suddenly, (ok not really but it did seem sudden) we

had the chicken wire in place to start pomping.

Then before you know it the columns were up and they were

being pomped with thousands of white napkins.
